It will probably boost numbers for a month or so to around 5200 or maybe even 6k but then it will gradually fall back down to around 4700 at peak, the highest number logged on is 9,255 on 5-19-13. I don't think we'll see those numbers but a really high peak is possible. If we can keep 15-25% of the extra whom come back to see what it is like now we would be in ok shape.
Will it be the Jesus patch? It has the potential to be. CCP should be listening to some of the these treads and I think that they are seriously going to try to to introduce suits that have our recommendations in them. I am going to go out on a limb and say that they may even dial back their normal OP/UP ness way of releasing content. This upcoming content has the potential to increase the player base by 25% if all goes well.
I don't want to type this out and I hate that I have to but I believe that now is the time to give a refund on all dropsuit related SP. At this point in time and with the changes that we think are coming a SP refund would draw back players and with the added content that we believe will bring all racial suits would probably keep some of them. The catch is that they need to do it really well. If the content is all borked up a lot of people won't give DUST a second chance.
For this up coming content to grow the base by 25% CCP will have to release a full line up of suits for every race, refund all SP for dropsuits -all module/equipment would be smart- to players, the suits would have to be comparable with none being clearly superior and have few bugs or glitches. I don't believe in SP refunds but for the good of the game right now would be the time I handed it out, if all the racial suits are released. Oh yeah, matchmaking needs to be spot on so we all need to do our jobs of logging on and giving Scotty a kick in the a$$. We need to be playing and providing feed back because if Scotty starts borking things we all will lose.

The problem with this is that players want full balanced battles. That cannot happen inside a MMO-FPS because it doesn't give the open world sandbox feel. A lot of us need to let go of the battles need to be fair or full idea if we all want to play in a sandbox. I would rather show up to a planet and find no one or get totally stomped than be placed in a battle that an algorithm thought would be best for me. Until there are a lot more districts, planets and systems to visit it will never be the MMORPGRTSFPS it's trying to be and we'll just have to wait in the lobby.
